Nick is Founder and Director of Nick Elias Studio, a MArch lecturer, academic, and architectural illustrator. He has been awarded the RIBA Silver Medal for his academic work in architecture. He has also been awarded the RIBA Donaldson Medal, the Sir Banister Fletcher Medal and was awarded a RIBA Bronze Medal shortlist.
Prior to NES, Nick has worked at Foster + Partners and at Haptic Architects. He is a MArch Design unit master at the University of Greenwich, and lectures at UAL and is a guest critic at UCL and other universities. He has worked on drawings and visualisations reaching international press and exhibitions such as the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition.
Nick has also delivered a TEDx talk on his architectural methodologies. He is an active member in both practice and academia, which is manifested with his involvement in the new think-tank ’Londonon’. Londonon is a collection of London-based architectural practices seeking innovation and prosper in the built environment.

Nick worked on a range of scales of projects, from exhibitions to the world’s biggest airport and Oslo Airport City, amongst other masterplans. Nick was lead architect and worked closely with directors on the initial concepts for projects international importance, such as Istanbul New Airport, Oslo Government Headquarters, Oslo Aquarium, HS2 Euston, and Oslo City Airport. Nick’s associate role was in developing best practice principles and pioneering design methodologies through drawing in Haptic, and the Haptic-born think tank ’Londonon’.
2010-2012+2014 @ Foster + Partners. Architectural Assistant.
Nick worked for two years in a specialist team “Design Communication”, which he spearheaded with Narinder Sagoo. He worked on Lord Foster’s personal projects, exhibiting internationally and at the Royal Academy Summer show. Nick worked directly with Senior Partners on concepts and visualisations for projects such as the Apple Headquarters, Thames Estuary Airport, West Kowloon Cultural District and the Château Margaux extension.
