Oaks Central Bohemia

“Inspired by the Bohemian Farmstead, this cluster of houses gather around a central, semi-private courtyard and are orientated to optimise views out to the spectacular Czech countryside.” - Haptic Architects
Designing a ‘social unity’ for the individual houses was a major opportunity on this project. Key architectural foleys, such as a BBQ + entertainment pavilion, were designed to promote healthy living in the neighbourhood. The term ‘Pahoda’ was born, referring to new social living concepts in the Czech Republic, and which required the architecture to prioritise placemaking over price per square foot.
